Haven’t we all become immersed in this time of reflection, listening and discerning new insights in our lives. Let us memorialize this unique pause in history and be renewed. Let us write from the heart, take photos, and record the evolving transformation happening within and without. Let us be compassionate, empathetic in our listening and kind in our new ways of being there for each other. The present seems stretched to allow more moments of centering, of envisioning, of discerning what matters most in our lives. These are precious days that enable new ways to be human and disciples. May we each honour the gift of life that for many has been cut short in this pandemic. We are a community of hope, divine expression and harbour the gift of joy. Let’s launch joy into the places, spaces, forms and connections of our daily lives. Let’s be who we are created and called to be whatever the challenges we face. We are Community of Christ living out our mission in surprising times. Namaste. A New Day Calls for New Measures Without a doubt we can say that in the last couple of months our world has been turned upside down. All that seemed so simple and innocent, is now different, difficult, and even suspect. The decision to cancel face-to-face events this summer has been necessary to be extra careful with your health and safety right now. The camp experience is the extreme opposite of the physical distancing we are undergoing right now. Protecting the health of our community must take priority. We recognize and are grateful for the efforts and detailed ‘intention’ each camp has been planned with. Everything we do is meant to build community and strengthen our spiritual formation... READ ENTIRE ARTICLE INCLUDING "OUR PLAN MOVING FORWARD">>>> For those seeking a deeper life with God there are times, often long stretches on the spiritual journey, where things don’t make sense; where the practices or answers of the past seem thin or ineffective. Or perhaps spirituality seems too concrete a word for the lingering hunger, sown in us by youthful or distant ‘’God-experiences”, to explore our longing for the One who knows us and longs to be known. For all of us these are times when we enter new spiritual territory and discover we can’t read the terrain. The signposts stand mute or may even lead us astray. All we seem left with is a yearning. Themes we’ll explore include: “When the Signposts Fail,” “Meandering in the Wilderness,” and “Oases in the Desert.” Please contact Lisa Neudorff if you have questions. We are journeying to an unknown place. It may not be a journey we planned to take, but it offers us an opportunity to create something new as we consider what matters most. We each can make a difference. We can model generosity and vision when people fear scarcity and what is happening next. We can offer the hope and purpose that comes from following Christ. We can uphold the worth of all persons including the most vulnerable as we make responsible choices that keep everyone safe. We may not have chosen the journey, but we can choose our response. Working together, we will create a better world on the other side. Are you in? Onward!
